Rainbow International School, Asmara, is a coeducational school for children aged 3 to 17. We use the British National Curriculum, and our programme provides a broad and balanced education for our learners, helping them to become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged. 

Our curriculum

Starting from the Early Years Foundation Stage to A levels, our EYFS and primary programme provide an excellent foundation for the next stage of education, as well as plenty of opportunities to develop creativity, expression, and personal wellbeing.

Each stage builds on the learners’ development from the previous year or from other educational systems, and our curriculum provides a strong foundation for students before their progression to the next level. We ensure that even the youngest students are learning the right things at the right time.

A robust foundation with excellent progression 

Rainbow School provides curriculum frameworks with progression grids to show what comes before and after each topics, so teachers can focus on teaching knowing that the sequence of learning aligns from stage to stage. Students will be familiar with content and skills from the previous stage and well prepared for the next, which carries on from year to year.

A flexible and informed approach

The curriculum we provide is constantly updated based on new developments in education. This, passed on to our teachers and in concert with the strong foundations given to our students, lets us build a programme that adapts to the needs of international learners.
